Fringe Benefits

Last week’s unseasonably chilly Missouri cool spell inspired me to pack away the remainder of my summer wardrobe. Naturally, this week is going to be a heat wave. Luckily, I recently invested in a transitional piece by Sam Edelman. It happens to be fringe, which, along with the one-shoulder, velvet anything, belled sleeve, and choker necklace, keep popping up as Fall 2016 favorites.

Although I don’t typically wear a lot of black this top is perfect for those cool mornings that turn hot. The fringe provides a lot more style than your basic black and this look can be dressed up or down. Throw this shirt on with a pair of jeans and a messy bun and you are ready to run errands with the kids or dress it up with a pencil skirt and a pair of heels for the office.

I paired this shirt with another 2016 Fall favorite, camouflage. This trend has stuck around awhile. My jeans, Elizabeth and James, were actually a Fall 2015, favorite. These jeans go with practically everything! They give just enough to be super comfortable but not so much that I am hiking them up midday.  On the days that I don’t have in any formal appointments for work, I live in casual clothes. More fun than jeans, these camouflage pants make everyday a little more exciting. And if one of your little darlings accidentally dumps spaghetti all over your outfit, no problem, it’s camouflage!
